Most recently, he served as President of Mortgage Funding Corporation, the commercial mortgage brokerage company that he ran for sixteen years
Bob began his real estate financing career with New York Life Insurance Company structuring large permanent mortgages. He later joined Bank Leumi where he was the youngest person to be appointed a lending officer, and was in charge of originating construction loans.
In 1986, Bob left the lending side to become the Director of Finance for the Scharfman Organization, a real estate investment and finance company with assets in excess of $600 million. During his tenure there he dramatically enhanced and expanded the company's lending relationships, arranging $450 million in financing for the company. He also handled loan workouts on behalf of the company, Clinton Capital Corporation and other related companies totaling over $300 million in restructured debt.
Since 1989, Bob has been actively involved in several real estate development projects and is currently a principal in a number of investment properties. He holds a B.A. degree in Finance from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia.
Brian Warwick
Co-Managing Director and Principal
Brian first joined Robert Altman in 1997 when he was appointed Director of Finance for Mortgage Funding Corporation. There he was responsible for all mortgage placement and was instrumental in expanding the business. Previously, Brian was Senior Vice President at Apple Bank for Savings serving in their Workout/Asset Management Department from 1991-1994 where he successfully managed a distressed loan portfolio of over $500 million.
Brian established his career in 1986 at Crossland Savings Bank in New York where he originated over $800 million in new loans which included permanent, construction, and bridge financing, and in 1991, was promoted to Senior Vice President in the Commercial Real Estate Asset Management and Workout Department. In that capacity he oversaw a portfolio of over $1 billion of distressed bank mortgage debt.
Brian holds a B.A. in Economics from New York University.
Maury Gordon
Director
Maury brings over 35 years of broad real estate finance and banking experience to
Altman Warwick. His responsibilities include the origination and placement of debt and equity transactions along with loan workouts.
Most recently Maury was a Business Development Officer with Republic First Bank wherein he originated and underwrote commercial mortgage transactions.
Maury began his career with Arthur Andersen & Co, CPAs. He then joined Prudential Insurance Company as an Investment Manager where he structured and managed many real estate joint venture deals. At Oppenheimer & Co., Maury was a Vice President of Mortgage Finance working with Savings & Loan institutions throughout the nation to restructure large portfolios of under water commercial mortgages.
Subsequently, Maury had extensive CMBS lending experience as a Vice President for Barclays de Zoete Wedd Securities, Inc. and Remsen Partners Ltd. / Smith Barney He then moved to the brokerage side working with GFI Realty and the Carlton Group originating over $500MM in loans.
Maury is a graduate of Brooklyn College with a B.S. in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Todd Zipkin
Vice President - Residential Mortgages
Todd brings over 7 years of residential loan origination and underwriting experience to
Altman Warwick. His responsibilities include originating and placing of both commercial and residential loans along with loan modifications.
Most recently Todd managed the Long Beach, NY branch office of United Mortgage Brokerage, where he developed a large referral base of Real Estate professionals and past / present clients. He originated over $150 Million in loans and currently works with 22 agents from 4 brokerage firms.
Todd holds a B.A. degree in both Finance and Public Relations from Syracuse University.
